A hectic life does not have to equal an awful dog

By Alfred Obi

Training a dog can be rather a troublesome process, if you go into the method blindfolded. Make sure you know exactly what you are doing prior to getting the dog, otherwise, it will be a tragedy. This newsletter will give you the dog training info that you need to make your new addition to the family, well behaved.

Dog coaching should really be viewed as a form of self control. If you're not able to control yourself, you will never control your dog. Move away from your dog, rather than letting him see an indignant outburst, and remain calm even when his behaviour is not stellar. Your dog will reply in a positive light if he watches you do the same.

Dogs have great focus and can focus upon one thing, ignoring everything else, till something breaks their attention. If you are consistent and use repetition, your dog will begin to wait for your signals before focusing on something.

When training your dog, it is important to add play into the sessions. This will help keep your dog interested. Play with his toy and show him how much fun you are having. This will help a dog with low incentive to remain interested. When you need him to take a toy, don't shove it at him, make him take it from you.

Try and schedule each training programme at roughly the same time every day. You need your dog to get into a pattern where he know's it's coming and is excited for it. If your dog is excited for it he's rather more likely to be successful, just as if humans are excited for something they are likelier to succeed.

When you take your little dog out to go to the bathroom, you have to be patient with him. He has got a short attention span and may get distracted by sounds and smells, or need to play. This is normal puppy behaviour and should not be reprimanded, especially while he is still learning.

When a dog lives in a house that hasn't got any small children or older adults living in it, the owner should ideally go out of their way to introduce their dog to those kinds of people. By introducing them in a controlled situation, one can train their dog the way to act around those kinds of folk if they're ever over at the home.

Since we've all seen dogs that haven't been correctly trained, we don't need one of those dogs in our own household. Take the dog training info from this work and turn your young dog or dog, into a nicely behaved part of the family.
